The War Heritage Institute sites are once again open to the public and adapt their timetables

Reservation is mandatory, either by email or by phone (during opening hours):

Royal Military Museum:
National Memorial of Fort Breendonk:
  • Opening days: from Monday through Sunday
  • School period: from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m.
  • Weekends and holidays: from 9.30 a.m. till 5.30 p.m.

Gunfire (Brasschaat):
  • Accessible on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for individual visitors and the 2nd and 3rd Sunday of each month, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Bastogne Barracks (Bastogne):
  • Opening days, from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m.:
    • June, July, August et September : from Wednesday to Sunday
    • October and November: weekends
    • December: weekend of 11/12 and 12/12
  • Group events and guided tours are suspended for the time being

Command bunker Kemmelberg (Heuvelland):
  • accessible on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Guided tours are mandatory for groups.

  • By appointment only, open on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10:00 to 16:45 for private guided tours, for schools accompanied by a teacher and for groups accompanied by a supervisor.

Following measures will however have to be observed once again:

  • Ticket purchases can only be settled electronically;
  • Wearing a mask is mandatory, both in public spaces and in open air;
  • The Documentation Centre is accessible upon reservation: www.klm-mra.be

The health and security measures are still applicable as well. It goes without saying that the War Heritage Institute meticulously follows all National Security Council guidelines in order to provide everyone with an opportunity to safely dive into History.
